Subject: Greetings fron Scotland

Hi Peter,

Not any stalking stuff or anything however my girlfriend and I are so
impressed with your attitude and you look great and VERY young Sir,
you are a gentleman and an ispiration to young drummers that count
yourself as an influence. Age is nothing. Being kind to (perhaps
sometimes over zealous fans) people will always leave a good taste and
you have a very good reputation for that.

Subject: You are the ONLY drummer in KISS!!!!!!!

Hi Peter Criss,

First off, YOU are KISS & it is a HORRIBLE shame that your make up &
Ace's are being worn by "imposters"! I want you to know that I love
you & Ace & I only collect KISS memorabilla that contains you & Ace in
it, not the imposters!

My oldest son Ezra who is seven years old knows that it is not Ace &
Peter on stage anymore because I communicated that to him! He can tell
visually, he thinks they look weird (so do I) & it is very noticeable
to everyone......

The KISS symphony DVD is great because YOU are in it! Ace needed to be
there as well..... The original line up is KISS period! The second
coming DVD is spot on Magic!

Peter, I hope that it is you that reads this because you & Ace will
always be KISS in my life!

You guys are the best!

May God be with you & your family,

-David Phillips

Subject: thank you

Just a quick note to say thanks for the inspiration! I have been a fan
since Alive. My parents hated the fact that I was such a fan but I got
over it. and I was able to share my passion for Kiss w/ my daughter
when She wanted me to take her to the show in Peoria, Il during the
"Farewell" tour. We we both got to share the experience of seeing the
ORIGINAL four for the 1st time. I got to see the Creatures of the
Night tour, but it was not the same. It's because of you that I
started playing the drums. Your are my "HERO" and I thank you so very
much. My life long goal is to actually thank you in person but I know
that that will probably never be a reality. Again i just want to thank
you very much for your inspiration.

Subject: eddie trunk interview

hey pete hope all is well.

i know the trunk interview is a couple of years old now, but i just
got around to it now. first let me say, kudo's to you man. i'm glad
you set it straight and got the truth out their to the masses. i can't
believe how those two screwed over you and ace. all gene and paul know
is " royalties" and nothing about " loyalty". no respect after 30 yrs.
what so ever. all that money will not buy them a ticket to heaven,
your honesty will get you there for sure. i've been a fan for 32 yrs.
getting "my" first kiss album in 75' with dressed. you set me on the
drumming path and have been since 1982. i've had some local success
here in " brooklyn " and not on your level, know how mean and corrupt
the business can be. i've had my share of being "screwed", but it's
all a learning expirence. please maintain your self respect brother by
giveing those two money whores a firm "NO WAY" if they ask you to come
back. your a talented guy pete, you have several projects going on and
i'm sure in one form or another, they will all blossom, you don't need
them. after the " farewell" tour in 2000 at jones beach, a great show
by the way, that was when i as well as many of my friends, closed the
final chapter on the band as it should have been. hav'nt seen them
since, as it should be. pete all the best to you and your family, best
of health to you and yours and looking forward to your future
projects.

Subject: We Miss You Cat Man

Peter,

I’m a fan of the original KISS lineup and I just wanted to say that
the group hasn’t been the same since you and Ace left. The best KISS
music came out of the 70’s. Unfortunately I never got to see you guys
in concert during your heyday. I finally got to see you during the
Farewell Tour. You are an awesome drummer. I admire the way you stick
to your principles and how you fight for what you believe in.

Good luck, keep the faith, and rock on.

Subject: I played in a band w/ Mark Montague

Hi Peter,

I found your site thru a Kiss fan site.

My girlfriend bought me Kissology for X-mas and I`m a Kiss fan all
over again. I especially loved the early year footage. You were the
soul of the band. It`s a shame that you did`nt get to sing more being
that you were the best singer in the band. It`s the George Harrison
syndrome I guess....well sort of.

I love your vocals on Black Diamond. It`s kinda funny to hear on the
other tunes how your back up vocals were way better than the lead
vocals. lol.. .

Yes I played in a band w/ Mark Montague., It was called Rude Cupid. He
came from a band called "the sick puupies"...and they were indeed
sick. Oh well you can cut this paragraph out if you post this. You
have my permission...

rock on.

Subject: You are the most awesome musician!

I just want to say thank you .. for all the music you and KISS have
given to the world! I grew up listening to your music as a teenager. I
remember all my friends at my house every weekend (so the parents
would know where we were) listening to your music. I painted my face
so many times like yours, that my mother started calling me Kitten!

As a singer I know that there are no words to express gratitude for
your fans. But, Please believe me .. there are no words to express the
way that your fans feel about you! My dream as a teenager .. was to be
in a band with you! I know there is no way that I could ever match
your talent as a musician, but the love of music is still there. I've
passed it down to my son, his first instrument was a drum set. Now
that he is interested in girls, he is more into guitars. He plays
piano, guitar, drums and sings. I have been so blessed to be able to
pass my love of music on to him. He loves the music that I grew up
with too! When he was into the drums heavy .. he wanted to be you! So,
again, THANK YOU! Thank you for all the music that you have given us
in the past .. and all that you do now. Your wife has to be a saint,
because I know that the life of a musician is hard .. with all the
travel and all. God Bless BOTH of you! I hope and pray that you will
continue to produce the most awesome music ever! God be with you and
your family!

My dream now is that one day my concert photography and video business
will be recognized enough that I'll be honored to take pictures of the
most awesome drummer and musician ever - Peter Criss!

With love and respect ~ you are the Cat's Meow!

Peter,

The true legacy of Kiss...as rock history will show & true fans know,
is how many musicians were first inspired to play because of you and
Ace. Every drummer I know (and I've been in bands for 20+ years),
either started playing because of you, or in the very least, was
stylistically inspired by you. You've heard it all before...but, it is
such a freakin' huge thing! I mean, think of the impact of The Beatles
on "The Ed Sullivan Show"...you are that to our generation of rock!
And, all "true" fans agree that Kiss only existed with you and Ace
involved, the true heart and soul, and musicianship.

I've played guitar since first hearing Kiss in the 70's, but you have
always been my favorite member...you've just always seemed like the
coolest "cat"...like an old Jazz dude stuck in a rock band...sounds
like it would make a good book...wait it is...

Happy belated Birthday, Merry X-mas, and happy and prosperous 2007 to
you and your family!

Love ya,

To The GOD OF THUNDER!!!

This is your biggest fan speaking here. My name is Stephen Yanac. I'm
18 years old and you are my hero. I just heard your interview with
Eddie Trunk and I was appalled that Paul had said that to you. You are
one of the founding members of Kiss. I must tell you, YOU KICK ASS!!!!
Peter, you are the best drummer in my opinion. I would like to ask
you, when and are you coming out with a new solo album. This is out to
my hero. YOU ARE KISS!!!!! Peter, I just have one question for you.
How the hell did you do that drum solo on 100,000 Years. Peter, that
is brilliance. I have to tell you that my first concert was when you
toured with Aerosmith when you played in Hartford CT. I cried when you
sang "Beth". My knees buckled when you sang "Black Diamond". I have
never seen anything like it. That was the best night of my life. YOU
ARE MY HERO!! I just have to tell you thank you. The reason I say
thank you is because when I was four years old I would watch you play
in some of the videos that my dad had and I would just be hynotized by
you and your drum kit. As I got older my Dad bought me a drumkit and I
would "pretend to be you". I have always dreamed of being a drummer
like you. But i have yet to fullfill that dream and I still intend to.
But I say to you from the bottom of my heart. Thank You. Thank You for
giving me the abillity to believe in myself. Remember, YOU ARE THE GOD
OF THUNDER!!!!!

Take Care

-Your Biggest fan-

Subject: Hey Catman!

Dear Peter,

Hey man! My name is Charles Salemi, I'm juuuuuuuust under 30 (Feb 4th,
will be the big 30!), and I've been a KISS fan ever since my cousin
showed me the albums back when I was a wee lad of 5. I'll never forget
buying my first KISS album (Dressed To Kill, because you were in
suits!!) and hearing the great music you guys made together.

Through the years, I have always felt a closer relationship,
musically, with KISS than any other band, because of the simple
message: Have a good time, rock out, and be yourself. On top of that,
I was extremyl lucky to get to see you guys on the reunion tour waaaay
back in '96 at the New Year's Eve show at the Medowlands, and let me
tell you, I am not ashamed to admit I was almost crying because I was
so happy to see you guys up on stage that night, the band of my
childhood back together, kicking butt and playing like it was the 70's
all over again. The feeling of pure joy and euphoria is something I
WILL NEVER forget. My friends who went with me that night, who weren't
big KISS fans became so because of that night.

The best part of all this, however, is the feeling I get when my 11
year old son has become almost as big a fan of KISS as I am. I
recently purchased the KISSTORY DVD set, and getting to see you guys
back in the early days, WOW. I read all the notes in there, and it
really was an all-for-one, one-for-all vibe. The shows were just a
part of it, but you guys really demonstrated what it meant to be a
team. I sat down with him the night I bought it, and we watched the
whole thing together. I had to explain to him that Gene spitting blood
was only an act, and once he got that, he couldn't wait to see it over
and over! =) The drum solos had him jumping and beating on the table,
as well!

Which bring me to the reason I am writing this.

We are a Christian family, and I have never, in any way, thought of
any of you guys as "evil" or "bad" guys. I always saw past the act and
the show to know you were all 4 very good people, trying to do what
was right. What also stuck out to him was the fact that you always
wore a cross, and he asked about that, and I told him you were never
afraid to express your love for God. My children attend a lutheran
school, and my son has mentioned that he is a KISS fan, and his
teacher doesn't approve, which to me, isn't very fair. I know you are
a good-hearted and kind person, and I wanted to share this with you
because he is such a big KISS fan. I resepct you for not being afraid
to express your faith, and that makes me so happy, you just don't
know. My son really looks up to KISS, and especially you.

Thank you, Peter, for not being afraid to express your feelings about
being a Christian and being the one member of KISS I can turn to as a
good example of what a person should be, nothing against the rest of
the guys! It makes me feel good to know that my son DOES look up to
you (He wants a drum set after seeing your killer solos, as well), and
I just wanted to let you know that. Your work with KISS has meant a
lot to me in my life, and I've never written anything like this to
anyone famous or anything, but after seeing your site, I will
definetly be a visitor for future Cat Updates, and I will be sure to
let my son know what kind of a person you really are, so that he can
take comfort in knowing that listening to KISS or playing the drums
isn't a bad thing.

I also want to thank you for what yu have meant to MY life, helping me
through MANY rough times with the music, and especially, again, those
astounding drom solos that even made ME want to try drumming, even
though I am completly uncoordinated! =) I've tried, it's just not me
lol. I'm also a fellow New Yorker/New Jersey Italian-type person, so I
also know you can cook, maybe you've got a recipe or two for me to
try? =) I'm 100% btw, both sets of great grandparents came from the
Old Country. VERY proud to be Italian and from the east coast!

Again, for like the millionth time, thank you for being a wonderful
person and keep on rocking. Sorry I rambled on, but it's so hard to
express just exactly what you and KISS meant to me. There's more I
probably wanted to say, but I can't even get it out! Thank you.

With much respect and admiration and love,

Charles

Subject: A few things that I just wanted to say.....

Dear Peter,

I’ll make this short and to the point. I’m sure you’ve heard this a
million-and-one times but….Thanks for everything! I have never met you
but it’s on my “to do” list before I die. You are the reason that I
picked up the sticks and got in the Biz. I feel an extra connection
with you because of our full Italian heritage, our shared Birthday’s
and we are obviously both Musicians.

I have been a KISS fan since the beginning! I have been a big
supporter of all your projects in and out of KISS as with all the
founding members. I miss that you’re not touring (as with Ace) as the
original 4 members but also being a 20+ year veteran of the Radio
industry; I understand the meaning of contracts and negotiations and
being a Drummer, we are often looked upon as there to fill more of a
supportive roll in a Band and more often than not, In my opinion, Gold
is to be found in one’s own backyard!

On our Birthday, I am happy to say that on the Active Rock Station I
work at in Ft. Wayne, On the “9 O’clock Rock Block” I hosted 4 in a
row from KISS featuring Peter Criss on lead vocal “Strange Ways”,
“Baby Driver”, “Hooligan” and “Black Diamond”. It was a “Tribute” to
you and a present on your Birthday…but I was the one who enjoyed the
gift! Again, Thanks for everything!

I sent the info to KOL in hopes that they would help me promote the
show so people all over the world could listen to the station online
and enjoy KISS songs, featuring you but KOL did not help me. I used
Myspace to promo the show and got more calls from all over the Country
than in our 50,000 watt listening area! PA, NY, OH, IN, CA and UT?
Blew my mind!!! It was my pleasure to turn on the “average KISS fan”
to songs that most have never heard.

Hopefully I’ll be given the chance to meet you one day to express my
thanks for your existence. Until that day comes…keep doing what you’re
doing, good luck with all that you involve yourself with and may God
bless you…and Happy belated Birthday!

Sincerely,

JD

Peter!

i am thrilled to know you have a site. I was just introduced this
christmas to the world of KISS, being 15 i wasnt aware that KISS
existed. I had bought ' The Billboard Encyclopedia of Rock'. You and
the other guys had this big picture in their and my eyes were
instantly drawn to you and Ace. I dropped everyhtingand went to find
every website, book, dvd, cd, and interview i could get my hands on.
Im sad to say that i missed out on the 74-77 Kiss, but you guys rock
out loud. I really hope you and Ace do something soon, because you to
were always the coolest!!! And by the way Black Diamond and Shock Me
are the ultimate songs! I listen to them constantly.

p.s. What was the coolest prank you ever pulled. I read that you and
Ace were great with pranks :)

Subject: Hello from William Ellis

Peter,

Hello as my name is William Ellis and Roxanne Buchanan was kind enough
to spread the word to you and your wife in regards to how much of an
influence you have been on my drumming. I am a professional drummer
and have been for 21 years now. KISS was the reason I started playing
drums at 5 years old! Just as Gene Krupa was your idol, you were mine.
I vividly remember many times playing to your drum parts as a kid on
my 3-piece drumset. My family wasn't able to afford cymbals in the
beginning as I used to play the drum rims as my cymbals. Moreover, for
a treat or Christmas time I was asked what I wanted and it was always
a KISS album or KISS merchandise. I could not wait until school was
over to run home and play to KISS. I had all of the records during my
childhood and would imagine what it was like being in your shoes by
imitating playing in front of thousands of screaming fans. Obviously,
the KISS ALIVE drum solo from 100,000 Years was very inspiring-thanks!
Not only was I into the music but I had alot of the merchandise as
well-KISS dolls, make-up kit, clothes, lunch box, u name it, I had it
if Mom could afford it. I want to say thank you to you and your wife
Gigi for being such an inspiration and for the drumsticks and picture.
It means very much to me as I will have it framed to put on my wall
very soon. Best of luck in the future with all of your endeavors and
have a beautiful day.

Happy Holidays,

William Ellis

Do you here me callin'? This is Beth here (from upstate NY) wishing
you a VERY HaPPY BirThDay! I know it's a bit early, but I wanted to
make sure by the time you might be able to read it, it would be
birthday! I almost was able to make the Chiller Theatre Expo to meet
you, but sadly it wasn't possible. It would have been loads of fun to
meet you and experience the Chiller Theatre Expo as well! I used to
sneak down from my bedroom at night to watch Chiller Theatre...I
always got busted but it was worth it!!! It is my dream to someday
meet you in person and give you a hug and maybe a "KISS" on the cheek
(or wherever...HAHA) So anywhoo, HAPPY BIRTHDAY and love ya heaps here
in NEW YORK!

Love,

Beth Ritter

Subject: Nobody can ever Replace you!

You are the best drummer in the world! Eric Carr was almost as good as
you and his Ludwigs sounded like thunder in "Love it Loud"! But Eric
Singer is a goofball and Paul isnt that great of a singer, Has anyone
else in the band ever sat down and tried to talk to him about maybe
singing less on albums? You should have sang more songs with Kiss. I
bet Kiss would have been even more popular if you were the lead
singer. Peter is Kiss as far as I'm concerned. Kiss without Peter is
like the Rolling Stones without Charlie Watts or Bob Seger and the
Silver Bullet band without Bob Seger! Todd Cleveland

Hey there man!!!

If this is the real Peter Criss...... tickle me pink! Man, I got to
say growing up in the 70's and listening to your guys music was a eye
opener for me. Alive! was my first record! I always heard stories (I
was in complete awe...) from my older cousins about your guys show at
the Halifax Forum Halifax, NS Canada. Every time I go there (The
forum) I always think of you guys!

I got a chance to see you and Ace in RPM in Toronto in 1995 or 96....I
caught Aces' pick at the end still have it buried in my Les Paul

and.....

I got the chance to see you in April 1997 and i will never forget it
(Both occasions). I have 3 daughters aged 3/7& 10 and they see my les
paul and see the records in my room downstairs and they are all too
well knowledgeable of KISS and Peter Criss!!! Man you and Ace rock
dude!!!! You guys were always my favorites, I took up drums first
because of you then when I hit teenage years got a les paul and tried
my hardest to make it sound like Ace

Listen man, I am completely blown away. I would have never thought I
would have the chance to say a real "thank you" to the cat man himself
!! I know it is your b-day soon (20th dec ) Hope its' a good one!

Merry Christmas, God bless and keep rockin brother!!!! Thanks for all
your beautiful music I love your solo work and kiss stuff.....

Hi Peter,

I've been a huge fan of KISS since I was six years old back in '82 and
you were my favorite band member from day one! My buddy Scott and I
always talk about when we went to see you guys in Detroit for the
first show of the Reunion Tour and the HUGE smile you had from ear to
ear during the entire show. That was what made it for me - you had the
smile that all of us had out in the audience and I will never forget
that. You and Ace were always the guys who connected on a personal
level with the fans the most. Can't wait to see you play live again!

Take care, my friend,

Hello !

I´ve been a fan of your work since I turned 6. My first record was
"Alive" and I´m still sure that the solo you performed is the greatest
of all times. -78 I bought a used casette from a friend, it costed
about 5 SEK it was like 80 cent today, it was your outstanding solo
album. This is still the most played tape in my house. I´ve never got
the chance to meet you but once I got a piece of your towel after
"Beth".

My main message in this mail is....Thank YOU so much ! ! for all the
happiness and joy you´ve created with your music. Best regards from

Peter, I have been a fan for over 30 years. I have seen you play with
Kiss many times, in Louisianna with ACE and enjoyed it everytime. I
think time has told the true story. Paul and Gene need to stop with
the feable marketing. How much can you sell? I always admired your
"Rock out with your c*** out" style. I am a guitar player, and a good
one, Ace has been a big influence on me. Thank you for 100,000 years
drum solo on Alive. I quit my job at the grocery store, put away my
lame albums, and the rest of history. God bless you. Oh yeah, you blew

Hi Peter.

I have written to you before, and after reading the way all of the
kiss fans around the world feel, because of genes and pauls egos that
they are kiss why don't you andAce show them a thing or two and put
your own kiss band together and put somebody else in there makeup and
outfits and say that its's them if they can why can't you because
after what I have seen on Gene Simmons rock school he really can't
play guitar thatwell anyways , and, Paul come on he tries to hide it
but he has an ego just as big as Gene

Dear Peter,

As a long-time fan of the original KISS, I was just wondering how your
book is coming along. As you know, we've heard more than enough from
Gene and Paul, particularly from Gene in his books. I'm a little
puzzled by Gene's attitude. What you and Ace did in KISS was a unique,
magic moment in rock 'n' roll, which is why it was so cool that the
original KISS lineup reunited (I saw you in concert on the Farewell
Tour). Thanks for all the blood, sweat and tears you put into it and
for keeping it real. Congratulations on your LIMHoF induction too. All
the best.

Hi Peter!

I'd really like to thank you for being part of my history, as well as

different than the other drumers and members. They were also good, but
you always had something more! A kinda feeling... I don't know how to

Unfortunetly I had no oportunities to see you on stage. Last time you
came to Brazil with KISS I was so young and I couldn't go to that

you or Ace together on a stage!

I wanted to mail you simply because I think you're the best drummer os

Hi Peter,

I met you once through a firend back in 86 or so in Los Angeles when
you were rehearsing with "Balls of Fire" up in a loft in an old
brewery building. It was classic because here was Peter Criss, the
catman from Kiss, icons of the 70's, running around after his little
girl who was the scene stealer of the night. It was awesome. I want
everyone to know that you are in no way the sterotypical star. You
were gracious to those of us lucky enough to meet with you and you are
one of the most pleasent people I have ever met. I hear stories about
how rude Gene and Paul are to fans from time to time and since I never
met them, I can't confirm or deny that, but I can honestly say that
you are above being a great musician, you are a great person. You
definatley belong back in the spotlight.

Take Care and best of luck to you,

Hello Peter!

I know you hear a lot of this, so I won't drown you in admiration. But
I did want to tell you just how much influence KISS had on me, and how
very much I miss you and Ace being in the band. I am a bassist of over
25 years (turned 40 last June), and you guys were the whole reason I
picked up the guitar when I was a kid. And when I finally got to see
you guys during the first reunion tour in San Jose, CA-I literally had
tears in my eyes. You have always been-and always will be-one of my
absolute favorite drummers, and your skills as a singer continue to
blow me away. Gene can go around saying that "KISS is a bigger idea
than any four people", but he's wrong. KISS will always be you, Ace,
Gene, and Paul. Period.

I am glad to see you are still keeping busy, and I will continue to
follow and support you.

Peace, love, and blessings,

Hi Peter,

I started listening to KISS when I was 9 (1980). After countless hours
of listening to records on my Dad's old record player and staring at
the album covers I decided I wanted to be in a band. You were my
favorite member of KISS (and I had dressed up as Peter Criss for
Halloween 2 years in a row) so I figured it just made sense to become
a drummer. To this day I play drums for rock bands, tour around the
country, record albums and still love KISS and rock music in general.

Thanks for inspiration, It has lasted 26 years.

To Peter

A big hello to you from a long time fan. I hardly ever email any bands
i grew up listening to because sometimes they might not get a chance
to read your emails and i feel its not because they dont bother with
them its kinda hard when you have more than a hundred emails or
letters coming to you so its understandable. I made it a point that i
would give it a try so here i am writting to you just to see how
things are going for you. I will make this email a brief one and i
wont ask questions you hear all the time. This is just a basic email
to you from a fan as i stated. I do hope things are going great for
you and just want to say thanks for making my childhood great. I
remember back when i was only 10 yrs old and would play the Kiss Alive
8 track after having a bad day a school. Your drum solo on that album
to this date kicks my ass when i listen to it. Music was and always
will be a part of my life whether it be rock n roll or heavy metal
especially blues and classical. I am 40 yrs old and i still go and buy
music of all types. Like i said i thank you along with the rest of the
members for giving me as well as many the best rock n roll ever
played. What sucks is i never got to see you guys play live but just
by listening to your music at home was enough for me. The past
reunited shows you did i missed too. But once you have a family and
all it does make it hard to make it to big concerts. I am not worried
because even thou i wasnt there in person I was there heart and soul
bro. You take care and always think highly of yourself for you will be
remembered for many years. Peace

Thank you for doing the reunion tour. For me it was a dream come true.
It was great to be able to share your live music with my son. Kiss is

I wanted to say how wrong Gene and Paul are by hiring 2 guys to play
"KISS" alias "MENUDO" How ridiculous to see another guy as "THE CAT
MAN" and another as a fake "SPACE ACE" pleassssssse what a torture for
a true fan of KISS since I was 8 years old!!!! Please Peter, if you
are ever ask to go back for a final tour, leave the ego out and do it
(Same goes for my man Ace). At some point it will be wonderful to see
Gene and Paul pay back the fans for what they have accomplish. I hope
we don't see more ridiculous merchandise of KISS just to make more
money, since it seems like this is all Gene and Paul cares about now.

and she said one day my parents were walking by this club and herd
this drum solo going on inside and my mom said that sound like Gene
Krupa sure enough it was, he came outside after my mom said hi he said
hello I'm Gene Krupa. I thought that was really cool I tell that story

Hey...I hope this reaches you Peter & not some assistant. I just want

It's pathetic the way Gene & Paul seem to think they are the vital
parts of the band when really its all four of you. And if anything,
you & Ace are the more talented. Gene Simmons needs to realize that
even if the four of you argue, that you owe it to the fans to play
together. It's what everyone wants. Well that's it....& the best of

Hello Peter. I have a little story that I wanted to share with you. I
was a big Kiss fan as a young teenager. I really loved your solo "Beth".

I was in the back yard with my brother one summer afternoon. We were
playing with the water hose and were all wet. "Beth" came on the radio
and I screamed and ran to the patio to turn the radio up. My mother had
painted the concrete and it turned out to be slick when wet feet hit it!
I fell slid into some clay flower pots that I broke with my knee. My
knee was cut wide open. It didn't hurt at all and I wasn't even sure I
was hurt at first. My brother called my mother at work, she came home
and took me to the emergency room where I got stitches in my knee. So
now 30 years later, I still have a nice size scar on my knee and I still
tell my story of being so crazy over Pater Criss and breaking 3 clay
flower pots with my knee when I heard his song on the radio. It's one
of my favorite stories. :-)

Take care - and thanks for all the great music over the years
Sheri

Big up catman

I am writing to say thankyou for a lifetime of memories i am 34 now and
remember going to the babysitters when i was 7 and we would play kiss to
the records. I always played Ace. I even had a bid brass kiss belt
buckle that people teased me about because they had perverted minds LOL.
My best friend in grade school was a huge catman fan, even enduring
ridicule for having one of your dolls that he carried everyday. I am
originally from Indianapolis and know many Kiss geeks.I have seen kiss 6
times and never was it more of a rush to see the real Kiss 2 times on
the reunion. I am now a 34 year old rastaman who listens mostly to
reggae but still love Kiss. I just stumbled onto your website and heard
the truth of how you and Ace were f??cked over again by two very rich
a??holes. there is only 1 Kiss and what they are doing now greatly
dissapoints me the same way as when i found out you guys were pictured
on album covers that you never played on. I cant believe those 2
egomaniacs think they are gods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the real fans know
its a joke and now that I got what I always wanted the real Kiss in
makeup Im done with them forever. come on Eric singer wearing your
makeup????????????????????? why doesnt he just wear Eric Carrs?????
tommy thayer get him the f??k outta here a fake Ace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eric is a good drummer but tommy!@?????????? two imposters!!!!!! I mean
they at least had the class to give Eric Carr and vinnie vincent their
own identities. I could always accept Kiss as they were without
imposters but now its gone too far. thank you for being so honest and
caring and telling us the truth.what about Peter and Ace
playing???????????
oh yes I also want to thank you for opening my mind to other music with
your ballads and un kiss like music !!!!!!! thank you your voice is
still the sweetest ever on any Kiss song ever!!!!!!!!!

I am saddened that arena rock shows are over for the most part and now
my 11 year old boy will never know what it was like as Kiss was one of
the last tours like that. My son wants to see Kiss but i refuse to give
him a mockery. i dont want him to go through life saying he saw Kiss in
makeup but there were two imposters.

thanks for eveything and blessing brother in all your endeavors

JAH bless

My names Rob Cacioppo, I'm 18 and I live in Jackson, NJ. I'm sure you
have heard this a million times, but dude, KISS is one of the greatest
bands of all time. My friend, Tom Herres, is the biggest KISS fan I've
ever seen before. There is not 1 inch of wall space left in his room,
due to the fact that KISS posters cover every inch of it. I'm sure your
a very busy man with lots to do, but if you could ever get back to me,
that would be awesome.

As a KISS fan from the beginning, I want to thank you for being such a
big part of my life as an original member of KISS. I would love to aks
you how you feel about the KISS Army. When you do an atograph signing,
hundreds, even thousands of people will line up for hours just to get to
meet you for a few seconds. That is amazing. Does it ever blow your mind
that you can still attract these crowds, and that kind of loyalty, for
over thirty years?

grew up watching KISS Meets The Phantom of the Park. I always thought
you guys were so unreal and cool. Now that im 18, im an even bigger
fan. I play drums in a rock band, and I have done a few shows. Just
workin my way up to the term "Rockstar". I just wanted to let you know
that you're great. You and Eric Carr inspired my drumming. I learned
how to play from putting a KISS cd in and playing along with Detroit
Rock City, and Love Gun, among the many other great KISS songs you
played on. I really miss seeing you with KISS, you and Ace are great.

Subject: I'm so sorry Peter

Peter,

I am a 44 year old fan of Kiss and I just wanted to tell you know I am
so sorry that Gene and Paul have decided to destroy the original Kiss by
letting Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer wear your make-up and pretend to be
you. I don't know what happened or whose fault it was that the reunion
didn't continue but the fans are being screwed by Kiss (Gene and Paul).
I love Gene and Paul so much they mean the world to me but goddamn it
they're greedy motherf**kers that don't appreciate how much us Kiss
fans need the four of you together again. Gene and Paul are too obsessed
with perfection to understand we love the original band as they are.
Peter I love Kiss and I love you and Ace so much it hurts to see Kiss
become a bulls**t tribute band. I hope that Gene and Paul will come to
their senses again and reform the real Kiss again. Paul has a new solo
Cd coming out and Gene is doing a reality show but in their hearts I
hope to God that they will come to realize that You and Ace are so
important to the fans that superior musicians like singer and Thayer
can't hold a candle to you. God Bless you Peter!

Best Wishes.

Don

PS
Pete I'm going to see the original Cheap Trick on friday and if they can
work out their problems and if Aerosmith can work it out so can Kiss!

Subject: Just a small letter (email) to say hello

Not only have I been a fan of KISS but I have b been a fan of the
original cast since 1976. I have seen the change when you (Peter) and
Ace left the band (I hope Ace is doing well) and some changes I liked as
well as disliked. I wrote a fan letter back in 1980s but the only
response I ever received was from the Leaf Garrett fan club, needless
to say I never wrote again until now, 26 years latter. I spent the day
hand writing to the KISS ARMY Fan Club. I’m now 41 years old and still
a major fan of KISS and here I am writing to one of the most major
members of the cast. I know I’ll never get a response from you but I
hope your doing well.

If you do get this Email Drop a small line.

Thanks. Joe Plain and Son Phillip
P.S. I know this letter is out of sorts but at least I can say I wrote
to Mr. Criss.
God Bless You and You’re Family !!!!!!

Subject: Days gone by

Peter

I use to have the Love Gun and Alive II albums on vinyl. I was 10 years
old in 1977, and these two albums were the first of many. Kiss has
somehow always been with me throughout my life, I’m 38 now. I remember
reading about the day you had left Kiss and being shocked. It was
almost like hearing that your parents were going to get divorced, I just
couldn’t believe it. Then Ace left and I was actually saddened, I knew
I’d lost something that could never be replaced. Kiss had a magic, an
unexplainable aura that offered a circus like fantasy land even for
adults to venture to. I’m sure it was quit different from your
perspective, even though I wonder why you and Ace left. I mean, to be a
member of Kiss, and then leaving seems, well unimaginable. I have read
various articles each stating different reasons for the break up. But I
always wondered what really happened.

Subject: The Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Kiss story.

Dear Peter Criss,

Just a quick fan letter. I've been a big fan of Kiss since way back,
and I still listen. It's great. Thanks!

A couple of years ago I was working on the creature/makeup effects for
the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV show. And people would bring in music
and we would have these "radio fights" with different radios blasting at
each other. Fun stuff. Anyway, one fellow brought in CDs of every Kiss
album in the world one day, and announced to everyone that only Kiss was
being played all day, and did anyone want requests. (Special effects
makeup artists ALL love Kiss. Every single one of them, pretty much.)

And truly, it did go on, all day. Nothing but Kiss albums and Kiss
requests, and before long most everyone was going insane from it. Great
freaking music! But it was too much. People started to complain, and
that's when the radio volume was turned up even higher. Someone lobbed
a big blob of wet clay at the radio. Arguments were started--like real,
actual, angry arguments. But nothing stopped the Kissathon. I think it
even went on into the next day.

Just a little story. Thanks for all the great music.

Best,

Rodd Matsui

Hi Peter,

First I want to say thanks for making my early years so much fun as a
young drummer. I'm 38 yrs old, grew up here in Rochester NY listening to
Kiss and playing drums instead of playing outside on most days. Being
married with twin 3 yr old boys I no longer have time for drums or
keeping up with what's new with Kiss. So when I saw the four members IN
MAKEUP WITHOUT you and Ace I knew that Paul and Gene jumped the shark.

When Vinnie and Eric Carr were with the band it was different, they had
their own characters. To see anyone else as Space Ace or the Cat is an
insult to both you and Ace. I heard Gene on Howard Stern saying you and
Ace were drunks etc, EVERYONE has their own vices including Gene. I
could personally give a s**t that your not a perfect human being like
Gene LOL. I wont hog up anymore of your time, I just had to get my
message out to you and Ace if your able to forward this. I wish you well
Catman, your the ORIGINAL and ONLY.

Subject: Love always for the CatMan!

Peter,

Just found your website, and spent the last 2 hours downloading and
listening to you on the Eddie Trunk interview. LOVED IT! You are
awesomely REAL, and always have been. My first exposure to you & KISS
was the Destroyer album. I was in Jr. High then, and 8-tracks were still
alive and well. From that first 8-track of Destroyer, I found myself
backtracking to get every album before that, and anxiously awaiting every
album to calm as I finished my school years. My favorite all-time KISS
abum is the KISS ALIVE I, and your drum solo work and Ace Frehley's solo
guitar work on that still are the master that I measure everything else
against. I graduated in Class of '81, and it seemed like that was a
chapter break in my life, as it was with KISS.

Looking forward to your new album, regardless of what the content is
(Sinatra, R&B, Blues, James Brown), because I know it will be purely from
your heart. If you are still working on it, I hope you get a chance to
work with some of YOUR favorite musicians. I would LOVE to see/hear
Lenny Kravitz and/or Ace Frehley laying down some music with you (cross
fingers and hope).

As for the "NEW KISS", I agree with you 200%. It isn't NEW, it's a
nostalgia cover band of KISS, nothing more, and to market it as either
the genuine KISS or some sort of distorted "NEW KISS" is just WRONG! KISS
is just about the money now, not the fans or the music, and it is
heartbreaking. It would be like going to see "Beatlemania", which I have
and enjoyed, but them promoting themselves as the "REAL Beatles". JUST
NOT RIGHT!

I remember watching the MTV KISS UNPLUGGED show, and was wowed by you and
ACE joining it. That was a great moment and a great resurrection of the
4 of you, as it should've been all along. It's a shame that others let
that slip away and die.

Love your heart and soul, always have & always will.
"Beth" always brings a tear to my eye, even if it is just an "elevator
music" cover of it that I'm hearing over a Macy's PA.

Thanks
David "Kawika" Richerson

have been a huge KISS fan for years but more so a dedicated fan of you
and Ace!! You guys are truly the heart and soul of KISS!! The band is not
the same and I refuse to keep spending my hard earned money seeing an
imitation of the original! The is and always be one band for me-the
original. Sure wish someday I will get to see the greatest show on earth
again but until then I at least can keep up with your projects!! Looking
foward to youe CD-obviously the music will come from the heart. Heard a
rumor that you were suffering from carpel tunnel-hope it is not true.

Subject: Fans Speak publish please

Hi Peter
I'm delighted to have an opportunity to talk to you. You are one of my
all time favorite musical hero's and not just for the great KISS Shows
and Albums. Your a great vocalist and drummer. I say vocalist first
because when you sang the MTV Unplugged show your voice immediately
brought the house down and it was plain to see that KISS was and would
never be 100% without you. I hope God blesses you immensely and brings
you whatever success you desire in life especially from your music and
your family. These pleasantries are truly yours. My story is I'm
thirty nine and KISS" 1979 Largo show was my first concert. I was a huge
fan going back to 1976 when I'd trade other bands records for Kiss
record's in school. I was 10 but I managed to acquired all of the LP's.
For the kids reading this that's like a giant CD of sorts. I'm addition
to trading albums I believe I may have traded baseball cards and cash to
get my arsenal of albums. I'm a fan from 1976 till now and will most
likely be a KISS fan the rest of my life. I remember setting up these
plastic cheese tubs and doing the 100.000 Year drum solo over and over.
Man did my arms burn. Kids if you want a lesson in drumming make you a
set of homemade drums from plastic cans and play the "Kiss Alive" version
of 100.000 Years, play it over and over again and you will have the best
arms guaranteed. But more on the serious side for me is I picked up an
guitar at thirteen (actually my dad paid $100 dollars for it) and the
Kiss Alive album was a great influence for me on guitar as well. I
suggest learning the whole album. Ace is a no nonsense rock guitarist and
is still a valid lead solo influence In my opinion. Ace Gene Peter and
Paul have inspired me musically and as a person. This is my testimonial.
I love you people! Peter rules!
Sincerely, Adam Troy

Subject: Thank You Peter

Peter, I want to say thank you to you & Ace. My brother & I have been
Kiss fans since we were around 9 yrs old. I am 39 Now. We use to buy with
our allowance we got every week from my parents any magazines that had a
pictures of kiss in them. We would cut the pictures out and put them in a
photo album. We had just about everything you guys ever put out. My
parents who were very supported of us would let us get the posters and
put them up in our room were we eventually had no room to put any more
up. We use to go down to a friends basement and pretend we were kiss. We
new all the moves and all the words to all the songs and we would put on
concerts to pretend fans. Then the make up came out and we would put it
on and look just like kiss. I was always Peter Criss & my brother Ace
Frehley. We had three black friends that were in and out of out band. It
was cool that alot of black people I new were really into kiss and loved
you guys. My first concert I ever went to was the Dynasty tour that came
to the capital Center. it was amazing me and my brother loved it and we
were so close to u guys. Then when we heard you had left the band after
that tour we threw away everything we had of kiss, We took the posters
down and gave all are records away to friends and felt really hurt. We
were both really young and didnt understand why u left till we got older.
When you guys got back together it was great and we were so happy but I
new it wouldnt last because of Gene & Paul are to controlling. We new
back when we were around 11 or 12 yrs old something was wrong because
when we would look on the albums and see who wrote all the songs and song
them were Paul & Gene. We use to think hard luck woman was song by paul
because it says he wrote it and usually on the albums whoever wrote it
sang it. We use to go it sounds like peter is singing it. Anyway I am
glad that you and ace left the band you two were kiss and i would never
see kiss unless its peter, paul, ace and gene. That is kiss and will
always be kiss. I never bought a kiss album after u guys left and wont
now. I loved the way you play and what you brought to the group. When I
was younger u and all the rest of guy in kisss gave me and my friends
alot of fun times and good memorys enjoying kiss. I also want to say
thanks to my parents for being so supported in me and my brothers
obsition with kiss when we were younger and the best christmas I will
ever remember. We got a new stereo and the four Kiss solo albums. Peter
yours and Aces are still the best. I am not sure if you will get this
email but thanks for all the great times I had when I was younger
pretending I was you. I wish you & Ace all the best in the world and you
are better off without those two other clowns.

PS: Paul & Gene you need to get off your high horses and stop dressing
those to imposters as Peter & Ace. You two need to remember when you guys
first started kiss what kiss stood for and you will stop all this BS and
stop repping the fans off.

Jim Callas.

Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) also stated in Modern Drummer

Dear Peter, Today is Aug. 4, 2006 i was looking at your web site and came
across the Eddie Trunk interviews. I must say it was good to finally get
your side of the story for years us KISS fans only got Genes and Pauls
side of the story. Peter i'm just like the rest of your fans. KISS will
never be the same without you and Ace. I grew up on KISS music i'm 39 and
in my heart KISS will always be " THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD " but
only with Peter, Ace, Gene, and Paul. My wildest dream came true when in
1996 The Reunion Tour came to The Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, NC
almost in my back yard. I also saw you in Greensboro, NC at The Farewell
Tour. My cousin and i grew up on the classic KISS music with make-up and
bombastic explosions but figured we would never see a KISS show with the
original line up but the reunion tour made up for that so when i heard on
the radio about the tour and when you guys were coming to town i wasted
no time getting my tickets. Last month VH1 Rock Honors was aired and a
fake KISS was honored, Ace was there but he did'nt play with the band he
played with a tribute band. I think it was a slap in the face to KISS
fans everywhere that you and Ace were not allowed to play. Peter its just
like you said in the interview with Eddie" KISS would not be KISS without
you and Ace". It is my deepest wish for you and Ace that everything you
all do in business and in life turns to GOLD for each of you. Peter
thanks for helping a young boy become a man. God bless you and your
family. My name is Lamon Kennedy a life long fan

for years the band has lost its appeal for me. its just not the same
band since you and ace left and the way you were treated is just wrong!!
anyway i wish you well in all your future projects and do well in life.

My name is Johan from Sweden, I´ve been a diehard fan of the original

have on your website, the Eddie Trunk show. What a great moment that was!
God bless you for telling the sad story of what Kiss is and stands for
today! It really feels sad to see the catmakeup on Mr Singer. He should
be ashamed. Has he ever spoken to you about it? Your a wonderful singer
drummer drummer Peter! I really look forward bying your new album!! I
wish you the best and that the album is a success!

Peter -

Just wanted to thank you for the years of music and entertainment that
you've provided. I became a fan of yours when I heard your first solo
album. Wore out an album and cassette! I'm very disappointed in Gene and
Paul for allowing the new guy to use your makeup...There's only one you!

Even dressed as you (the Cat) one Halloween! - Fortunately (or not) there
aren't any pictures of that!

Keep on keeping on!

Hi Peter,
I am glad I can write to you, it is a honor to have your e-mail address
!! I have been a fan since late 78 when for first time in my native Punto
Fijo-Venezuela I saw and heard one of your records and finally got from
my uncle the Rock and Roll Over acetate that he bought me in Miami, then
the rest over all of these years have been nive to enjoy all the KISS
material in which you participate and of course your solo records.

I am 43 and I have all of your solo albums(some acetate), including the
one of criss-cat, which songs I do like them because they have hard
rocking guitars.

I am guitar player and always play my prefered Kiss and yours tunes(I
have an Ace Frehley Les Paul and some other gibsons as I am a collector
since my profession pays me better).

Last Friday night (July28,06) I invited some friends here in Cd.del
Carmen-Mexico where I currently live and I sang "Beth" and "Baby, Don´t
you let me down" to my beautiful daughter Christine as we celebrated
her 6th aniversary, it felt great, so I said to my wife I must take a
look to your page, and it is great it is still there for all the fans..

I hope you come up with new records and hope that Ace is part of those.
The both of you are my prefered artists, please keep the flame burning,
the world need creative people as you and Ace are, I think that like most
fans we would like to see anothe KISS reunion, it is necessary..

From me and my family we wish well for you and your family.

Subject: Hooligan, Baby Driver

Dear Peter,

I am a big, BIG fan of your work. I think you do really awesome
songwriting and singing. Two of my top-favorite songs from the entire
Kiss catalog are "Hooligan" and "Baby Driver". Overall, though, it's
your drumming that really gave the band it's raw power and attitude.
They only have that real KICK when you're with them. Your drumming is
the pulse of the band.

I'm the webmaster of Polar Blair's Den (which is becoming more and more
popular all over the world with every passing day) and I'm developing a
section for Kiss in my music department. YES, I am discussing you in all
favorable terms. PBD is a very positive website.

I really like your work and don't believe Kiss is truly Kiss without you
and Ace. It's got to be all of you. The Catman, Space Ace, Demon, and
Star Child...what an interesting cross-section of musical personalities.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Dear Peter,

Hi my name is Kim M and I'm from Ontario Canada. I have been a fan of
KISS since my 9th birthday, about 1977. I gave my mom 2 albums to buy
and she picked Destroyer, boy was I hooked. I've seen KISS twice live
and have been to many tribute band shows, just trying to relive the best
shows ever put on a stage. So far KISSTHIS in Ontario has met the bill,
oh the the guy that does you, Harold, has a great personality and it
shows in his portrayal of you!

Well what the purpose of my letter is that I have been involved in the
March on the Hall of Fame since October of last year and have been
getting the message out to the radio stations and other fans. I was
listening that night when you called in...I wanted to wake everyone up
and yell "OH MY G Pete is on the phone, it's Pete!" I have to say you
made my year! The Catman himself knows how much the fans love him and
want you to get the recognition you deserve as an artist! KISS has the
best fan base ever, we love you and the band and I thank you for filling
my heart with joy just hearing your voice!

YOUR FAN ALWAYS...

Subject: Classy

Peter -

I think you have been really classy concerning all of the "hoopla" that
Gene started over why you and Ace are not in the band anymore. I have
been a Kiss fan since I was 7 years old and I agree - the only Kiss to me
is Gene, Paul, Peter, and Ace. I also appreciate you saying that "it
breaks your heart" how things have ended up with you and Ace not being in
the band.

There are three sides to every story - his side, your side, and maybe a
little bit of both is true. However, the point is - he should have
respected you enough not to run his mouth the way he did. I have always
liked "the demon", he was my favorite as a kid, but NOT as an adult
because he doesn't act like an adult should.

Please continue the course you have taken in dealing with this. I think
you are awesome and a class act.

Rock On,
Kevin Bozzi

Hi Pete,
Russell from Australia here, been a huge kiss fan for 22 years.Saddened to
see whats happened to the band, they will still make it due to the fact
Gene and Paul sing most of the songs,so in a sence they will still kinda
sound like kiss,I miss the variety you and ace brought to the band, now
its to much Gene and Paul.

The talk of Kiss continuing without those two is just a joke,if you and
ace were the main singers in kiss i believe you both would still be in
the band.

Ace was always my favourite member of kiss, did he leave or was his
contract terminated,it sounds like he became frustrated at not being able
to contribute much to reunion album.

Best of luck with your new projects, hope to see you and ace back in
makeup in the near future, and recording the ultimate kiss album with
equal imput from all 4 members, thats my and most kiss fans greatest
fantasy ,hope it comes true.

Great writting to you CatMan

Dear Peter,

I just want to say what a big fan I am of yours and that your the best
drummer I know. Also I am a big cat lover too. One Halloween in the
seventies my friends and I dressed up as KISS and I was you. My friend
put all our make-up on and what a great job she did. I even made my own
costume. We were all in a Halloween contest but we came in second. Man I
was mad. But it was fun to do. But I just want to end by saying Happy 4th

Ever since 1973, my mom became a true die hard KISS fan. But when i was
born that wore off. She had been a member of the kiss army for a long
time, but she hadn't been very active. When i turned 4 i first herd of
kiss, but i didn't really know anything. But at the 2002 loympics in Utah
(which is where i lived at the time) I saw KISS play. then i became
intrested. In the third grade I started playing the drums and would only
play along with kiss. Then alive 4 happened and would only dress up for
halloween as you or Gene. As an eleven year old. I have had many good
kiss moments. In 2003 I saw KISS in concert on the world domination tour.
But every kiss concert that didn't have you playing, was considered
pointless to me. Tell KISS I said hi.

Subject: Why I was a KISS fan

Hi Peter,
I can remember the day I became a KISS fan. It was October 31, 1976. I
was only nine years old and watching the Paul Lynde Halloween Special
with my best friend in his basement. You guys came out and performed
Detroit Rock City and I was completely blown away. I had never seen
anything like that on TV! Later you came out and played Beth on a piano.
I was hooked.

I grew up in a pretty conservative home in which KISS would have been
frowned upon, but the fact that you guys seemed forbidden made your music
seem all the more appealing. Still, I was able to sneak in the single of
Beth (with Detroit Rock City on the back) into the house. I lost interest
in the band after you left, but my affection for the band was rekindled
when you reunited. It was fun to see you for the farewell tour. The
highlight of the night for me was when you sang Beth.

Peter, you are the reason that I was a KISS fan. You are such an enigma -
a jazz drummer in a hard rock band, a Christian in a rock band famous for
promiscuity. You sang ballads on otherwise hard rock albums. You are a
huge part of what made that band successful. Now that you're gone, I
couldn't care less about KISS again.

Keep Rockin and God Bless,
Paul Blissenbach

Subject: Hey Pete, you still are the best....

Pete,
I just finally listened to your radio interviw with Eddie Trunk, and
can't agree with you more. I am becoming less a hardcore fan than I was
on a daily basis... I have stopped buying anything new from Kiss, as far
as I am concerned, this ridiculous idea of Kiss continuing as this
TRIBUTE band kiss is a SHAM. The DUMB-ASS idea of Kiss continuing, using
ORIGINAL make-up, is a disgrace and insult to us, the fans, who have gave
our dedication and hard earned money to the KISS MACHINE. As Gene as
always said, you don't have to listen to Kiss, spend money on Kiss
merchandise, etc... you don't have to - well, I am not gonna do it any
longer. If this Kiss thing is gonna continue as it is, and NOT CHANGE
into what it is, and they start marketing it as a NEW band, I am
out....... if there is an original project, like old stuff that
represents true kiss, I will be interested, but as is, I am not any
longer interested... I wish you could have been at VH1 Rock honors. Its
a shame that Ace couldn't get sober and be totally healthy, but thats
life, and God Bless him, hopefully he can be healthy soon. Good luck to
you, and God Bless ya, please keep us - the fans - up to date...Love ya.

Subject: Trunk Interview from '04

Just wanted to let you know that I had just discovered your site and must
say that yours is the most personal and intimate compared to the other
members (and ex-members) of KISS. After hearing your interview from 2004
on Eddie Trunk's show, it's obvious that you sincerely care about and
have great appreciation for your fans. I am 38 years old and discovered
KISS from my older brother (around the time of the Alive album. Since I
lived in Springfield, Illinois and was too young to travel for concerts
then, I did not get a chance to see the band then. (I know you played
here in 1974 on your first tour but I didn't know about KISS then). Thank
God I caught you in 2000 in Chicago for the Farewell Tour since this was
the last tour with the original four members.

I realize that the Eddie Trunk interview was over two years ago but I
have to say that your interview is, even at the time of this writing, the
most informative and honest that I could find anywhere regarding why the
original four members are not together anymore. Unlike the other websites
and interviews with say, Paul and/or Gene, you show real concern for your
fans and you seem to never have lost sight of where you came from. You
look like you are in amazing shape for any age let alone late 50s. No
one, not even Paul or Gene can honestly believe that you can't cut it on
the drums, that's just beyond ridiculous. I'll bet you play even better
now than during the 70s. However, despite all that has happened between
you all, I would be willing to bet that deep down, you still have a bond
with Gene and Paul. It seems to me to be like when you have a falling out
with a family member, you get angry, may even hate them for a while, but
there is still that bond. That is why I haven't gone way out to chastise
Gene and Paul. They know what they did and are doing to you and their
fans and you know also. Let me end by telling you this: In my eyes, you
stood taller during that interview and today that you ever did in KISS.
Gene and Paul may have the name, but you have class and that is worth a
whole lot more in the end...but you probably already knew that.

You are the only "Catman"!!!

Subject: Been a minute.

Hey Mr Peter Criss,
Like so many people my age (41), there was a time when KISS was the only
thing that mattered. I don't think people now a days really know how hard
it was to be a 10 year old fan of KISS in 1974. I was banned from every
thing KISS by my southern father.(He still dosn't get it) So I did what
any KISS fan would do, I had to hide all my LP's and eight-tracks, I had
to keep my KISS lunch box in a ditch next to the house and switch it with
the super-friends lunch box that my mom had bought me,every day.

I snuck out my window when I was twelve to go see my first KISS show with
my neighbor(he was 16) 75 miles from my house. I got caught coming back
in with my brand new and very first concert T-shirt. Where you been? my
dad asked, umm, in the back yard camping out, you can imagine the rest.
Besides my 2 kids being born it is to this day my greatest memory . I
always wore two shirts to school. The one my parents bought and a KISS
shirt under that, so I could change on the bus, everyday. Most of the
other kids would make fun of me and say KISS was gay, this from people
that listened to the Bay City Rollers. I always took up for KISS, and
played it as loud as I could, just to piss everybody off. Then it started
to be "cool" to like KISS , except for my dad that is. So when I was 14 I
had to sneak out my window again, with a different neighbor this time(she
was 16) As you might imagine I got caught climbing back in wearing my
second brand new KISS concert T-shirt. I've been in the back yard camping
out, I told my dad laughing my ass off. You can imagine the rest. I can't
imagine my life without KISS in it. I am that 40 year old guy still
wearing a KISS shirt, my 13 year old daughter makes my lunch for me, and
puts it in my KISS lunch box, everyday. People who don't get KISS will
never know what being a fan really means. What the music really
means. What being all heart really means. It's been a minute since it's
been hard to be a KISS fan, but that day is back again. I can not seem to
get the VH1 honors out if my head. Ace was always my favorite, but I
liked you the best,if that makes any sense at all. I thought Ace looked
and sounded great on the honors show, but for him to have to play while
someone else wore his make up, still blows me away. He did it however,
holding his head high, and with heart or so it seemed to me. For Peter
Criss not to be there or even mentioned at all, ripped my heart out
completely, and still bothers me today. I still can't believe it. Maybe
someday the "other 2 members" will realize what KISS really means and has
meant for all these years. Surely it means more than money. After all I
went through to be a KISS fan, all the crap I took, someone please tell
me it's more than about the money. I know that is for you. I listened to
the Eddie Trunk interview the other day for the first time. I must of had
tears in my eyes five or six times, because of how humble you are,and how
you get it, get us the KISS fans. You have always been a hero of mine, and
still are today more than ever. Thank you so much for what you mean to
Rock And Roll, and thank you for what you mean to me. KISS is not the
only thing that matters to people my age now,but it damn sure matters. My
daughter got an award at school 2 weeks ago. It was a pretty big deal.
Five other students also got awards, they were all dressed up as can
imagine, my daughter was called out last, she came out wearing my first
KISS concert shirt, that she had wore another shirt on top of, then took
off when she got to the award show. She gets it. I went to one of the
reunion show's and was lucky enough to see you and Ace together again. I
took both my kids with me. When we started to leave they were heading for
the door and I said, not that way, so we snuck out my bedroom window,
just for luck. As funny as it is this is a true story. When we got back
home, we snuck back in the window, and I heard someone say, are you still
camping out in the yard son? It was 3:00 in the morning and my dad was
laughing his ass off. Maybe he finally gets it after all.

I wish you and your wife much happieness and love with everything you do.
Thanks again for all you still do for us KISS fans.

Subject: A huge thanks

Peter

I am sure thru the years, you have been thanked by countless fans. I am
no exception in this matter. I do want to say thanks, for being a huge
part of the biggest band in the world. You and the other members inspired
me to be a musician. I admit, I am not a drummer, I am a
guitarst/Keyboardist, but you still influenced me, the whole band did,
and you and Ace were my favorites.

So thank you Mr. Peter Criss, thanks you for some of the best times of my
life, and the best music

Greg

Subject: Rock honors

I know I wasnt honoring that imposter KISS group. I would have more
respect for KISS if they wrote new music and went unmasked again.

Bottom line Kiss sucks without Ace and Peter and it’s a disgrace to do a
rock honors with imposters..

Subject: I am sure you have heard this but....

I wanted to let you know of the impact your song "BETH" has had,
continues to, and will always have on me and my daughter. When I got
pregnant with my daughter, Taylor, I love the song tremendously. I wasn't
supposed to be able to get pregnant, but I was blessed. As she grew in
my belly I would listen to that song with one ear-bob of my walkman in my
ear and the other on my belly, you know kind of piping it in to her. It
was the only thing that would keep her from kicking the crap out of
insides. When I would play it she would hold still insideme. When she
was born, as an infant she was a very quiet and well behaved baby, hardly
ever cried. When she did I would put it on and she would calm down
immediately. She is nine now. We can walk thru a store and it will be
playing over the stores system and she still stops and almost becomes
zombie like. She loves that song. All in all I wanted to tell you this
story so that I could say thank you to you and let you understand how
much it meant to me to have her be able to hear and feel the music she
listens to. Most of the musicians that are out now or recently no longer
feel the music they just play it. You made us feel it. So THANK YOU!

Subject: Regarding Vh1 Honors....

Hi Peter!

I hope this little note finds you and your family well! Although I am a
guitar player you have always been one of my most favorite musicians. I
am 35 years old so I grew up during the Kiss years. After you and Ace
where gone I didn't really pay much attention to the new stuff. I went
into a different musical direction specifically more improvisational jam
band type stuff. But through all this, you somehow have always been one
of my most appreciated musicians. In fact, in my car I have an mp3 player
that allows me to put tracks on to listen in my car and all the songs
that you do vocals on are on there. And even some that you don't that
just have some really fantastic creative drumming on. But thats not
necessarily why I'm writing you to tonight. As I watched the vh1 honors I
was deeply moved to not see you be part of it. So I wanted to write you
this short letter to say how much I appreciate you and your contribution
to some awesome music! I have to say that it sickens me to see the
make-up on these new guys. I did however notice that Eric Singer seems to
be totally inspired by you as a drummer which I think is neat but
unfortunately its not you. Your probably right where you need to be,
around your family and the people that love and care about you and of
course enjoying the Jersey Shore! (You lucky dog) I'm in Arizona where
its so dry you don't even know your sweating. With a little luck I'll get
down to Cape May and Wildwood this summer. Do you have any plans of doing
some new music? I wish we could have a backyard acoustic jam sometime. I
hope your enjoying your summer, take care and always remember there is
people out here that love you.

Cordially,
Marc Spritzer

Subject: Hello

Dear Peter,

Nice to see KISS getting honored at the VH1 party last week, only too bad
you wasn't there. There is only one line-up in make-up posible, and
that's the original four.

Can't wait to hear your new album, please can you say anything when you
think it will be in the shops? Is it gonna be old school rock, ballads
and some jazz influence?

I am a huge Jazz fan myself, I like Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Stan
Getz, but also Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and your first solo album, it's
very underrated.

Take care, and God bless,
Marc

Subject: VH1 Rock Honors

Hey CATDUDE!!!

I really enjoyed the interviews and old footage from the VH1 Rock honors
show! I wish could say the same about the live performances by the
imposter band that calls itself KISS, but it's just not the same without
YOU and ACE. I wouldn't even mind watching KISS play now if they gave
Eric Singer and the Ace imposter their own KISS personas a.k.a Eric Carr
(Fox) and Vinnie Vince (Egyptian) -- but it turns my stomach to see them
passing off the spaceman and the catman without you and ace. The
original KISS will live in my heart and play in my car stereo FOREVER!!!!

Subject: Thanks Peter

Dear Peter,

I'm 13 years old,and im a bitg fan of yours. Two years ago my
sister, introduced me to Kiss. I grew to love Kiss. Because of you I have
taken the intrest in Drums and Percussion. Your my biggest inspiration
for taking up these instruments. For halloween in 2005, i dressed up in
a costume resembling your and i painted my face with your make-up. I hope
to become a great drummer as you are someday. I am very grateful for
discovering Kiss and you. My bedroom walls are plastered with Kiss and
your posters. Drumming is a great thing to do. It's super fun and I'm
so,so happy i discovered Kiss. So I thank you for inspiring me to find my
passion inside me for Drumming.

Sincerely,Sean.=*.*= <---- your make-up.

Subject: Hi Peter

Peter -

Thanks for the opportunity to e-mail you. I have always wanted the chance
to share my thoughts about you if given the chance Much appreciated.

I just want you to know that your music and approach to life, in and out
of Kiss, has inspired me since I was young, and I overcame a lot of tough
times to develop a great career in sports (I work at ESPN) and I have a
wonderful wife and son. You taught me to never be afraid to take chances
and always be yourself. I have enjoyed your work both in Kiss and as a
solo artist. I look forward to more. And even if you simply sit back and
just enjoy life right now, you have more than earned it and you have
nothing left to prove. I will always revere and admire you.

You have been a major presence in my life even though we have never met,
and I know you meet and hear from millions of people, so I appreciate
your time. I know it is valuable. I hope you are enjoying well-deserved
time for familyand fun after so many years of giving yourself to the
fans. I missed you when you left Kiss the first time, and I miss you as a
fan now. But if you're happy, that's most important. I wish you only the
best. I always speak well of you no matter where I go. Without you, Kiss
would have never made it to the heights they reached. Beth is the most
important song in the history of the band, and I know it.

I have heard you are a baseball fan - Yankees or Mets?

Take care and hope to meet you one day. I write about fantasy football
for ESPN and it's a great career that you have inspired me to pursue.
Thank you.

Scott

Subject: You Have Class!

Hey Peter,
I've been a fan of the original Kiss all my life. I'm a fellow
Brooklynite, I started listening to Kiss in 1973.

I watched the VH1 Rock Honors show last night and not only wanted to
commend you for your interview but also point out that the Vegas audience
showed up the current phony Kiss line-up.

When the host asked the audience who was in the Kiss Army, the audience
barely uttered a word. When she asked one more time, maybe 5 more people
responded to her question. So like most fans, the audience was not buying
into the "Phony Kiss".

Too bad you didn't play drums with the Rob Zombie tribute band-you and
Ace would have made Gene and Paul look bad! I know it was an honors show
and you being a class act took the high ground. It was cool to have Ace
perform "God Of Thunder", funny how it's one of Gene's signature songs.

I just wanted to let you know you're a "Class Act" and many fans would
prefer to retire Kiss instead of watching Gene and Paul along with two
imposters, running the Kiss legacy into the ground.

Thanks for listening...........Jim Mc Connell

Mr. Criss;

I was very sad that the original line up of Kiss did not play the Rock
Honors event. From what I have read of some of the other members of the
brand I am sure that was not yours or Ace's idea. It is truly sad that
other members of the band could not put aside there pride or what ever
for one night to honor what you guys started. I was shocked and I really
think is shows the real lack charter of the remaining band members.
Another thing I noticed was both Gene and Paul were both in full make up
and Ace and you were not... Once again another little dig I think by the
remaining members. Anyway I am sure it is not much comfort to you but I
noticed and thought it was very wrong and disrespectful to you both
however you both handled it with class.

Take care,
Jeffery Potter
